Longmont: As Is addresses the state of overlooked places and objects as they are now: neither mourning nor celebrating their past glory, but addressing them head-on. At the time these photos were taken, I had spent the last twenty years in and around Longmont, Colorado, a town that has seen tremendous growth and change since my birth. Parts of this town – my town – have become gentrified in ways I could never have predicted. As a consequence of this change, other beloved Longmont institutions and businesses have become neglected or faded away altogether. But with all of this taken into account, watching it all unfold has been a special joy. From Longmont’s ever-shifting point of view, where are we headed from here?
